Prizes

The competition prizes total EUR 50,000, of which EUR 20,000 will go to the best entry overall and EUR 30,000 will be distributed at the jury's discretion to entries accomplished in various aspects. Commendations may also be awarded to distinguished designs.

Jury members

Jouko Pöyhönen

Jouko Pöyhönen, M.Sc. (Tech.), is Director, Project Development at SRV. He is the chairman of the idea competition jury. Jouko has served in positions of responsibility in the development of SRV's major regional development projects and has also strongly focused on developing different forms of collaboration between the private and public sectors. Jouko is known for his innovativeness, insight and plentiful ideas. 

Maaria Nuutinen

Maaria Nuutinen, Ph.D. (Psych.), is Research Manager at VTT in the field of business ecosystems, value chains and foresight, and is the secretary of the jury. Her area of expertise is how people and organisations operate. Her interest in the development of operations, on-the-job learning and overhauling operational cultures has led her to participate in many projects in numerous different fields. 

Ville Jokela

Ville Jokela, M.Sc. (Tech.), is the new Head of Real Estate Management at Sanoma Corporation (as from the beginning of 2016). Ville has served as Development Manager at Posti Kiinteistöt Ltd and as a Unit Manager at NCC Property Development Oy. He has long experience of the development of different kinds of business premises and concepts in Finland and neighbouring regions. 

Anne Korkiakoski

Anne Korkiakoski, M.Sc. (Econ.), is an experienced Board professional. Her previous positions include serving as head of marketing and communications at Kone and Elisa. She won the Marketing Director of the Year Award in 2012. She currently works on the boards of organisations such as Oral Hammaslääkärit Plc, Oulun Energia and the University of Vaasa. 

Sarita Laras

Sarita Laras, M.Soc.Sc., is Director, HR and Communications at the IT service company Atea Finland Oy. Sarita has worked in the fields of communications, marketing, brand management and corporate culture for almost twenty years. Her professional passions include developing workplaces to be pleasant and productive, a coaching approach to leadership and turning inclusive corporate culture into a real competitive factor.

Jan D. Oker-Blom

Jan D. Oker-Blom, M.Soc.Sc. and MBA, is CEO at Finnish Business Angels Network, a member of the Helsinki City Council and former Vice Chairman of RKP. Jan's special areas of expertise include finance, entrepreneurship and the SME sector. He has also served in numerous positions of trust. 

Hannu Penttilä

Hannu Penttilä, M.Sc. (Tech.), has served as Deputy Mayor of the City of Vantaa, responsible for land use, construction and the environment, since August 2015. Hannu has long experience of regional cooperation and urban planning and construction. His previous position was as Deputy Mayor of the City of Helsinki, with responsibility for urban planning and property.

Hannu Seristö

Hannu Seristö, D.Sc. (Econ.), is Vice President at Aalto University, responsible for Knowledge Networks. Hannu has taught courses on international business themes in Finland and abroad, with a focus on international marketing management.

Marianne Vikkula

Marianne Vikkula is President and Chief Operating Officer of the Slush startup event and a student of industrial engineering and management at Aalto University. During her years as a core member of the Slush event, she has closely followed and contributed to the ongoing evolution of Finnish growth companies. She recently won the Daughter of Espoo Award 2015.
